In-Flight Movie Picks (Part 3)

This time went to Texas. By the way, I got myself the BOSE QC35 headset on the way back: awesome stuff, people! Actually my first noise cancelling headphones, and it was totally worth it. The rumble of the aircraft was so distant I could barely hear it, and I could watch movies with volume at 2 or 3! That's how good that stuff is. Really helped with sleeping too. Only problem is you might not hear the flight attendants talking to you. The Huntsman: Winter's War by Cedric Nicolas-Troyan with Chris Hemsworth, Emily Blunt. Thor trades Mjolnir for a couple regular hatchets. Still manages to hack his way to victory (sorry for the spoiler). Not unforgettable, not bad. Rather decent brainless entertainment.

The Nice Guys by Shane Black with Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling. That was entertaining to say the least. I like how it's both totally unbelievable (impossible chases, action) and very believable (things never go perfectly smoothly) at the same time. My favorite movie on this trip.

Me Before You by Thea Sharrock with Emilia Clarke and Sam Claflin. Khaleesi as a maid, and no dragons. Enough said. More seriously, Emilia Clarke is great, and so are the other actors, but the scenario does not bring much surprise.

X-Men: Apocalypse by Brian Singer with James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence. Haven't seen most of the previous X-Men movies but I must say this one was great entertainment. Although it doesn't have as charismatic characters as the Avengers 2, it has a much better scenario. Worth a look if only for Quicksilver's introduction scene.

La Vache (One man and his cow) by Mohamed Hamid, with Fatsah Bouyahmed, Lambert Wilson. A pleasant comedy but probably only if you're French (and even then, not guaranteed).

Maggie's Plan by Rebecca Miller with Greta Gerwig, Ethan Hawke, Julianne Moore. Was it good or bad? I wish I cared enough to know. Great actors, boring story. Of course I am not a reference in romantic comedy. Let's say I watched it for the sake of research.

All the Way by Jay Roach with Bryan Cranston, Melissa Leo. About president Johnson coming to power after the assassination of JFK. I recommend for Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad lead) 's awesome performance.
